About Eternal Love

Our Past...

churchday.jpgEternal Love Lutheran Church began as the result of mission work in the growing area of southeast Appleton. After six months of survey work, the first service was held in April, 1989 by Pastor Robert Balza, who still serves the church today. The congregation was incorporated in May, 1991, and is a member of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS). A preschool was added after an addition to the building in 2003.

Our Present...

Eternal Love is a warm and friendly congregation composed of a young, but maturing family of believers. Members enjoy a worship style that blends liturgical worship with non-traditional styles and volunteer in numerous ministry roles, activities, groups, and projects.

Bible study is offered regularly in a variety of forms for members of all ages. The sacraments of baptism and the Lord's Supper are celebrated.

Our Future...

During 2008-2009, Eternal Love conducted a long-range planning effort. The congregation refreshed the mission and vision of the church and set recommendations for the future. We are now in the process of implementing those recommendations.

In 2010 we called a second pastor, Pastor Michael Johsnon, to serve our growing congregation with a focus on outreach and youth ministries.

We are also in the process of working with a contractor to develop an updated site plan and  recommendations to address our growing space needs.  This work will be completed during the first half of 2011.

As we grow, we strive to build on our ministry strengths and pray for the Lord's continued blessings in the future.
